Vera is a partner based in the firm’s London office. Before joining Aroeira Salles, she trained and worked as a lawyer and partner at two major Brazilian international law firms in São Paulo, Miami, Lisbon and London. She joined Aroeira Salles in 2023.
Vera holds a law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of São Paulo, having also studied at UCL. She is qualified in Brazil, Portugal and England & Wales and speaks Portuguese, English, French, Spanish and German.
Vera’s main areas of focus are corporate and energy law and she has extensive international experience. She has assisted a large number of British companies to do business in Brazil over the last three decades. She was also the Brazilian representative in the M&A and Corporate Commissions of the Union Internationale
des Avocats (UIA) for many years.
As Co-Head of the London office, Vera is assisting the firm to consolidate its international practice, with a special focus, besides the United Kingdom, on Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Vera is a highly respected member of the Brazilian business community in London, where she chairs the Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain, an entity dedicated to fostering commercial and investment links between the United Kingdom and Brazil. Due to her work in this respect, it was recently announced by the Embassy of Brazil that Vera will receive the Rio Branco Order in recognition of her decades-long work in developing relations between the UK and Brazil.
