Mariana advises clients in several areas, mainly in the infrastructure and construction, naval, energy and oil and gas sectors. She has expertise in respect of public and private contracts, working on important road, railway and airport transportation and shipbuilding projects as well as urban and industrial infrastructure projects in Brazil.
She has defended some of the main clients of the firm in relation to some of the most important projects in the country including Petrobras projects (COMPERJ, RNEST, REPLAN and PROMEF) and significant power projects such as the Angra 3 thermonuclear power plant. Mariana also advised on the contractual management and preparation of a claim in respect of a construction and industrial assembly contract, including the pre-arbitration phase and arbitration, with a final decision in favour of the client of over R$ 300 million.
Her international experience includes successfully advising a client on the Brazilian law aspects of a multi-million dollar dispute in the English Higher Court, advising a client on the contractual management and preparations for a complex arbitration proceeding in New York as well as the contractual management of an infrastructure project in Africa.
