John is International Counsel at Aroeira Salles based in the firm’s London office. He initially trained and qualified as an English lawyer at a large international firm in London, working there for a number of years before moving to Brazil and joining Aroeira Salles in 2013.
After working in Brazil, advising mainly on the legal management of large construction contracts, John returned to the UK in 2016 together with the founding partner of the firm to set up the London office.
John is currently in charge of building relationships with international partners and clients, and for developing strategies for international work.
John has extensive international experience, having worked as a lawyer in Brazil, Japan and the UK. He is also fluent in English, Portuguese and Japanese.
John holds a law degree from the University of Cambridge and studied at the University of Tokyo as an International Law Researcher. He also completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in England.
